Growing sweet peas - sunny location, nutrient-rich, calcareous soil, watch out for waterlogging (however, during extreme heat, they require abundant watering)
Sweet pea originates from North America and arrived in our region around the 18th century, with approximately 200 species. This plant often has an upright, branched, smooth stem, is climbing or trailing and grows up to 4 m tall, with pods measuring 6 to 10 cm as its fruit.
This little plant is very popular especially for its beautiful fragrance, and it's also perfect for vases, where it will last up to a week.
