The squirting cucumber is a plant species from the gourd family (Cucurbitaceae). It is a wild-growing plant that occurs naturally in the Mediterranean and in some parts of Asia. What is unusual and characteristic about this plant is the explosive ejection of seeds, which occurs when a ripe fruit is pressed or broken. Thanks to this mechanism, the seeds can spread over a greater distance from the parent plant.

1. Soil preparation: choose well-drained and fertile soil with plenty of organic nutrients.
2. Seedlings: sow seeds in pots or planters. Cover them lightly with a layer of soil.
3. Watering: keep the soil moist, but don't overwater. Water regularly to prevent the seeds from drying out.
4. Temperature and light: keep seedlings in a warm and sunny location. The optimal temperature for germination is approximately 20-25 °C.
5. Transplanting: once the seedlings have grown and formed enough leaves, transplant them into individual pots with sufficient space for rooting.
6. Plant care: regularly fertilize plants with organic fertilizers and water them.
7. Outdoor planting: after the last frosts, you can plant the grown plants outdoors in the ground. Choose a sunny location.
8. Frost protection: in cold areas, protect plants from frost, preferably with winter mulching.
