ORGANIC essential oil Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) is obtained through hydrodistillation of resin from thorny Commiphora trees growing in the dry and sunny regions of Somalia. The oil has a delicate, resinous, warmly earthy and balsamic aroma, which ranks among the oldest and most precious essences used in perfumery and spiritual rituals.
Myrrh has a millennia-old history – it was used in ancient Egypt, Greece, India and the Arab world. It is also known as one of the gifts that the wise men brought to baby Jesus. The scent of myrrh still symbolises calm, strength and sacredness.
