Hokkaido is a tasty, versatile squash, suitable for boiling, baking and frying. Ornamental pumpkins in three different colours have very tasty flesh. Fully ripe, they will last up to several months. Fruit weight is up to 1.5 kg.

Growing Hokkaido Pumpkin

Choose a sunny location for this trailing vegetable. Sow seeds from April to a depth of 2 to 3 cm. Plant seedlings in the bed from the second half of May at a distance of 80 cm. The distance between rows is 120 cm. Train the plant on a support. Special vegetable stakes or flower netting are suitable. Regular watering with larger amounts of water is important.
