Melon ORANJE ANANAS

ORANJE ANANAS sugar melon is a heat-loving climbing plant from the gourd family. It is grown for its sweet fruit.

How to grow

• We sow the seeds in spring into cups and pre-grow them in a warm place.
• We plant young plants out only after the frosts have ended, in a sunny and warm position, preferably in a greenhouse or polytunnel.
• The soil should be nutrient-rich, well-drained and warmed, and we water the plants regularly with lukewarm water.
• The climbing shoots can be trained up supports or left to grow across the bed.

Use

Ripe fruit is eaten fresh as fruit, for example as a dessert or in fruit salads.
