Rembrandt tulips are suitable for cutting and group plantings. This is a group of Darwin tulips with striped or spotted petals. This colouring is caused by a virus, which also causes slowed growth of the plants. Plant the bulbs with the tips upwards in a sunny location, in well-loosened, medium-heavy, permeable soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline reaction. The plants do not tolerate fertilising with fresh manure! In cool weather, varieties of this group will remain in flower for a very long time. Remove the tulips from the soil after flowering, once all the leaves have turned brown (July). Clean the bulbs, dry them and store them until planting in a dry and cool place. It is necessary to change the growing location at the latest after two to four years of cultivation on the same spot!
