Helianthus sunflower is an annual sunflower intended for decorating the garden and for cutting for a vase. The name suggests that it is a variety bred for cutting.
How to grow
- It requires a sunny, warm position sheltered from the wind.
- We sow the seeds in spring, from April to May, directly in place.
- The soil should be nutrient-rich and constantly slightly moist.
- For cutting, choose flowers when they are starting to open.
Use
Sunflowers are among the undemanding annuals and are suitable for beds and outdoor plantings. Details about the variety can be found on the packaging.
Cut flowers for a vase in the morning and put the stems straight into clean water.
