How to establish a lawn

• Clear the plot of weeds, stones and roots and loosen the soil.
• Level the surface and rake it to prepare a fine seedbed.
• Sow the seeds evenly, work them in lightly with a rake and roll the surface.
• After sowing, keep the surface slightly moist until the grass emerges.

A lawn that is subject to heavier wear, for example for children's play or sports, requires a different mix.

Before sowing, choose a sunny to partly shaded position and, once the grass has emerged, mow it for the first time only when it has reached a suitable height.
