Use

Place the filter in the dripper and rinse it with hot water to remove any papery taste and to warm the dripper. Add the ground coffee and pour hot water over it slowly. After brewing, discard the used filter and rinse the dripper. Store in a dry, clean place.

The paper filter traps the coffee grounds, so only a clean brew reaches the cup. When choosing filters, always match the filter size to the size of your dripper.
