1. Seed Preparation: Soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours. This will increase the germination probability.
2. Substrate Preparation: Prepare a moist and well-draining substrate containing peat and perlite. You can use a special substrate for growing exotic plants.
3. Sowing Seeds: Make small holes in the substrate and place the seeds in them. Cover them with a thin layer of substrate.
4. Maintaining Temperature: Place the sowing container in a warm and bright location with a temperature around 25°C. You can use a mini greenhouse or cover the container with film.
5. Watering: Regularly check the moisture level and adjust watering as needed.
6. Seed Germination: Within several weeks, the seeds should begin to germinate and the first shoots will appear. Once the shoots develop, move the plants to a location with sufficient sunlight.
7. Transplanting Seedlings: Once the plants grow to the required size, transplant them into individual pots with suitable substrate for exotic plants.
8. Plant Care: Place the plants in a location with sufficient light. Water them regularly and gradually adjust the temperature.
9. Outdoor Cultivation: If the climate is sufficiently warm and there is no risk of frost, you can transplant the plants outdoors to a sunny location.
Growing vanilla passionflower from seeds requires patience and thorough care. The plants should begin to flower and bear fruit after 2-3 years.
